Welcome to Anuar Heberlein Art Worx, my personal art portfolio.
Through painting and collage, I aim to dissolve the perceived boundaries between concepts that are often seen as opposites. I don’t view things like life and death, good and evil, material and ethereal, or past and future as separate or conflicting forces; instead, I see them as intertwined and constantly transforming.
But it’s also not just about how these themes look visually; it’s also about creating an experience. I want those who view my artworx to feel the fluidity and harmony within these contrasts. In Material Meditations, I use iridescent inks and hyper-saturated blacks to bring out depth and volume. While you, the viewer, get closer to the painting or walk from one side to the other, light and darkness dance with each other and transform the painting depending on your viewpoint. In Past/Present/Future, physical elements like 200 year old letters or receipts I find in flea markets are placed alongside more abstract, spiritual elements, expressed through pure geometric forms and colors. In doing so, I aim to blur the lines between the past and the present, or the physical and the metaphysical.
I also want to break down the separation between myself as the artist and the viewer. We’re connected through the shared human experience of creation, perception, and interpretation. I invite you to feel the same unity between apparent opposites that I’m exploring in my practice. When we engage with a particular piece, we then establish a conversation—a space for reflection, transformation, and mutual engagement.
My ultimate goal, and that of my artistic expression, is to invite you to look beyond what’s on the surface and experience the interconnectedness of all things. Through these artworx, my hope is that both of us become part of a shared, unfolding process where the boundaries between self, other, and the world dissolve.
